Obituary for David Loren Hartshorne

David Loren Hartshorne was born January 9, 1940, in Watts, OK to Allen and Eva (Wilkey) Hartshorne. He passed from this life Friday, July 27, at the age of 78. He Attended High School in Tulsa, OK. Served in the Navy on the USS Magoffin at sea as an Interior Communications Electrician and was honorably discharged in January 1964. He was a member of the IBEW Local 584 for more than 54 years and worked throughout the U.S.. He also served as the union's Assistant Business Manager, Assistant Dispatcher & on the Apprenticeship Committee.

David was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his three sons, Toni Colleen (Browning) Hartshorne; his brother, Larry Hartshorne and his sister, Reba (Hartshorne) Haley.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Vonda (Allison) Hartshorne; sons David Hartshorne JR.; Dean Hartshorne (Cristina); Dale Hartshorne (Sheri); Stepchildren Cheryl Hilser; Julie Byford (Joe); Kevin Harrison; Sisters Teresa Yarnell and Laura Hamilton; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of David’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at I.O.O.F. (Hulbert) Cemetery in Hulbert, Oklahoma.
