Obituary for Joy D. Rose

Joy D. Rose, 83, passed away on February 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Elbert and Cora Elizabeth (Cox) McKinney, and her husband, Fred Rose.

Joy is survived by her children, Terri Rucker (Don) and Paul Randall (Karen); grandchildren, Daniel Rucker (Melissa), Alyssa Rucker (Andrew), Mark Rucker (Casey), Lauren Randall and Jamie Randall; great-grandchildren, Max Rucker and Annabelle Rucker.

Joy was born in Norman Arkansas. She was valedictorian of Norman High School in 1951. She graduated the University of Arkansas Fayetteville in 1955 and received her master’s degree from HSU in 1974. Joy then received a Professional Degree and taught school at Park Elementary for 27 years. She was proud to keep up with her past students’ achievements with a scrapbook full of memories and articles.

She married her college sweetheart L. Paul “Bud” Randall and had two children, Terri and Paul. Her second marriage was to Fred Rose for 29 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church, Daylily Society, Iris Society, Melting Pot Genealogical Society, Garland Co Retired Teachers, Hot Springs AR Chapter of NSDAR.

Joy loved her beautiful flowers which filled her entire yard. Her loving husband Fred, planted them all for her. She cherished her family, every detail, past, present and future, and loved to bake sweet treats for them. We know she loved the Lord and he is watching over her. We find comfort knowing we will all see her again.

A celebration of Joy’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wade Overturf officiating.
