Obituary for Wiley Horton "Joe" Mullins

Wiley Horton “Joe” Mullins, 93, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away December 20, 2018. He was born February 8, 1925, in Camargo, Tennessee, to Wiley Herman and Gracie Lee Avis (McCown) Mullins.

Wiley joined the U.S. Navy at age 18 during WWII and served as a seaman on a landing ship for tanks. He retired after 20 years as a chief petty officer. Wiley then began a 20 year Veterans Administration career as a shop foreman at Fort Roots Veterans Hospital in North Little Rock. More recently, he began to manage real estate that he had accumulated in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Wiley lived in Hot Springs for 30 years. His pastime was trips with his family in their recreational vehicle.

Wiley was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 63 years, Linda Beatrice Mullins; son, Perry Don Mullins; brothers, Carl and Wilburn Pearson; and sister, Ellen Mullins.

Survivors include sons, Ronald Lynn Mullins (Mary), Gregory Joe Mullins (Alison); brother, Floyd Mullins Ricketts; and grandchildren, Robyn Clark, Christopher Mullins, and Conor Mullins.

A celebration of Wiley’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Hope Cemetery in Calhoun County, Arkansas with Bro. Bob Warford officiating.

Pallbearers include Ronald Mullins, Gregory Mullins, and Christopher Mullins.
