Terry Wayne Hudgens, age 72, of Hot Springs, formerly of Monticello, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. He was born on January 20, 1946, in Monticello, Arkansas, to the late William P. “Bill” and Marguerite (Woods) Hudgens.
Terry was a devoted Christian and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist/tool and die maker for Chem-Fab in Hot Springs. Terry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and golf. He was the 2002 champion of the USA Outdoors Big Bassarama Tournament on Lake Ouachita, winning a new Silverado Truck. Terry was the 2006 Angler of the Year for Trader Bill’s TNT Circuit and won various local tournaments. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling and playing golf in various locations.
In addition to his parents, Terry was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Lynn Hudgens.
Survivors include brother, Dennis Hudgens of Virginia Beach, Virginia; son, Wayne Hudgens and his wife, Tonya, of Hot Springs; daughter, Nikki Hudgens Cook and her husband, Billy, of Metairie, Louisiana; stepson, Bill Fortenberry of Hot Springs; stepdaughter, Missy Hudgens Newcomb and her husband, Robbie, of Royal; grandson, Dakota Cook; granddaughter, Cheyenne Cook; step-granddaughters, Danielle Hudgens, Ashley Newcomb; niece and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, with visitation at 9:00am.
