Obituary for Roosevelt "Theo" Hawks

Theo Hawks, age 83, of Hot Springs, Arkansas lovingly and peacefully passed away November 24, 2018. Born February 14, 1935 in Hollis, Arkansas, but moved to the McKenzie River, Oregon as a young boy. He was in the timber industry for 45 years. During those years he was called into the service not once, but twice where he served as a supply sergeant for the Army. He married the love of this life on January 5th, 1959, Helen Gossage, and they were getting ready to celebrate 60 years together. The loss of this extraordinary man will forever leave a hole in our hearts.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mamie Hawks, brothers Adrian, Jack, and twin brother, Cleo. Sisters include, Bevie and Hodie. Also preceded in death is his beloved grandson, Christopher.

Theo is survived by his loving wife, Helen; two children, Craig Hawks (Robyn) of Eugene, Oregon, and Missy Maxey (Rick) of Tyler, TX. Five grandchildren include, Devin, Christian, Greyson, Nikkole, and 2 great grandchildren, Cyrus and Scarlet. Also surviving siblings include brother Doyle Hawks (Beverly) of Eugene, OR and sister, Lorene Hudspeth, of Marysville, CA. Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Theo’s life will be at Caruth Village Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28th at 10:00 a.m.
