Obituary for Nicole Roxanne Lopez

Former Port Barre, Louisiana resident Ms. Nicole Roxanne Lopez, 32, tragically passed away in her sleep on Jan. 30, 2019 in Hot Springs, AR.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, AR at 2:00 pm led by Pastor Lance Arguello. Another service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 5:30 pm at Teche Baptist Church, 3634 Grand Point Hwy, Breaux Bridge, LA led by Pastor Jake Bondurant and music provided by Mrs. Nikki Lee.

Ms. Lopez was born December 30, 1986 in Lafayette, LA to Pablo ”Paul” Lopez, residing in Holland, Michigan and Melinda Kaye Soileau, residing in Elton, LA. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Eugene Kenneth Soileau (Port Barre, LA) and the late Penny Turner Soileau. Ms. Lopez was a kind and compassionate young woman, who could accomplish anything she set her mind to. As a single mom of four young boys, she was able to take care of her home, vehicles, work, attend college and raise her boys. She moved to Hot Springs to be closer to her Aunt, Jennifer Soileau Rollins, who also acknowledged her as her own daughter and her daughter, Gabbrelle Rollins.

She worked in the retail business, as a customer service representative at STARTEK in Hot Springs, AR and as a CNA nurse. She attended National Park College to pursue her LPN degree. She was a huge fan and enjoyed watching LSU and Saints football. Some of her favorite movies were Steel Magnolias, The Vow, My Sister’s Keeper and any children’s movie which she thoroughly enjoyed with her boys. Some of her favorite TV shows were Gray’s Anatomy, The Walking Dead, Power, and Duck Dynasty to name a few. She enjoyed reading books and read books like the Bible, A Child Called “IT”, and The Lost Boy. She enjoyed country and rock music and doing everything with her boys, attending events like MUDDFEST, Monster Jam, sporting events, hiking, and swimming. She was an outdoor enthusiast.

She is survived by her four minor sons, Noah, Eli, Donovan, and Isaiah Coates and her dog, Charlie; brother, Brandon Jon Soileau, Spokane, WA; two sisters: Victoria Soileau and her children, Andre Calloway, Jr., Adrian, and Ariyana Soileau, Houma, LA and Rachel Soileau and her children, Jamaiyah Turner, Jambre Turner, Jr., and Nicholas White, Jr., Baton Rouge, LA; cousins, Brittany and her husband Josh Savoie and their children Charleigh and Jordan Savoie, Breaux Bridge, LA, Aaron Soileau and his fiancé, Jazmone Childress and their children Payton, Karson, Easton, and Rowan Soileau, Hot Springs, AR; Kimberly Soileau and her children Gracelynn, Lincoln, and Rhylon Soileau, Opelousas, LA; Davy Rollins, Jr., Hot Springs, AR; and Darryl, Samantha and Christopher Deville, Krotz Springs, LA; her uncle, Paran (Godfather) Anthony James Soileau and wife, Bethany Hunt Soileau and their children: Sophia, Nicholas (Nick), Anthony (Tony), and Olivia, Hot Springs Village, AR and Andre and Anne, Broussard, LA; aunt, Nanny, Billie Soileau and her children: Raiel Wilbanks, and Lucas Byrne, Carthage, TN; Mary Ellen Lopez and her children: Consuela Lopez, Alex Sauseda, and Gabriel Adams; Melissa Lopez Daigrepont and her children: Brandon, Emily, and Ian, Hessmer, LA; uncle, Larry Lopez and his children: Isabella, Mya, and Wyatt, Hessmer, LA; paternal grandmother, Mary Lopez, of Hessmer, LA; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandparents and friends.

Ms. Lopez was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Penny Turner Soileau, Uncle, Andy James Soileau, Aunt, Anita Soileau and her paternal grandfather, Pablo F. Lopez.
