Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Brakebill

Elizabeth Ann Brakebill, 78, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2018. She was born January 20, 1940 in Casa, Arkansas to Dee and Magdelan Hamilton. Elizabeth was the director of Dorcas House in Little Rock for 5 years, and Potter’s Clay for 30 years. There she provided stability, safety, peace and hope for countless families. Elizabeth’s dedicated walk with the Lord allowed her to touch lives in a special way. She was the praise and worship leader at The Gap Fellowship Church. She became the spiritual mother for thousands of girls. Her work with the Judge Ralph Ohm and the Garland County Court system was a blessing to our community and many families.

She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 62 years, David G. Brakebill and her sister, Wanda Johnson.

Loving survivors include sons, David (Debbie) Brakebill, and Mike (Diana) Brakebill; daughters, Tracie (Bill) Stage, and Kyla Brakebill; brother, Dennis Hamilton; sisters, Beatrice Jane Hamilton, Thelma Korgan, and Dorothy Kelly, grandchildren; Audrey Freeman, Diana Hilyard, Andy Brakebill, Rachel Long, Rebecca Stage, Chris Brakebill, Adam Stage, Jordan Broadwell, Summer Surratt, Amber Preston, Jeff Switzer, and Jay-Michael Switzer; great-grandchildren, Skylar, David Spencer, Sophie, Asher, Jaylen, Kiptyn, Kantyn, Kaleb, Ashley, Zac, Allen-Michael, Tabitha, Carson, Kennedy, Cale, Addison and Jett; great-great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Justice, and Dutton Rose.

Visitation will be 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A celebration of Elizabeth’s extraordinary life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank her special friends, Susan Wilson and Jackie Walker for their exceptional care. Also the family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and the staff of the Malvern Avenue Neighborhood Walmart Pharmacy.
