Obituary for Betty Lutes Ford

Betty Lutes Ford, 91, of Hot Springs, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord December 19, 2018. She was born to Gilbert and Clara Schaefer Mallman on November 25, 1927 in Greenfield, Missouri.

Those that knew or knew about Mrs. Ford affectionately knew her as Grandma Betty or the Hallmark Lady. She loved life and could be found enjoying her hobbies of photography, gardening, playing golf and volunteering to help those around her. She had an infectious smile and laugh and could lift the spirits of everyone. She trusted in Christ as her Savior and served Him faithfully as a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church for over 58 years. Until the very end of her life she would still smile at the sounds of “Jesus Loves Me.” She will be terribly missed by all of those she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Robert Lutes and Frank Ford.

Loving survivors include her two daughters Beth Powell and Becky Lacy; sister Virginia Carsley; grandchildren, Sean Barron, Zach Lacy (Cheyenne) and Angela Riley (Benjamin); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emma and Lauren Riley, Ian and Caleb Lacy, Nicolette and Alyssa Barron. She is also survived by longtime friends Wayma Rowe, Cora Lee Ray and Martha Poe.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor David Fleming will officiate and burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zach, Ian and Caleb Lacy, Sean Barron, Benjamin and Tyler Riley and Jim Lucas.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy, Jamey, Chip, Grayson, Matthew, Duncan, and Austin Ford.

The family would like to thank Deborah, Vickie, Erica, Sheila and the rest of the staff of Right at Home as well as Eileen, Donna and other staff at Hospice of Central Arkansas for the love and care they provided our mother and grandmother.

Betty's memory may be honored through contributions to Grand Avenue Methodist Church and The Hospice Promise Foundation at Hospice of Central Arkansas.
