Life Legacy

Alice Marie Oliver, “Granny”, of Hot Springs, January 1, 1934 – April 22, 2012
Granny left us Sunday morning April 22, 2012 to be at peace. We never met a kinder soul. She gave to all who knew her all she could because she wanted nothing else but to love those around her and be loved in return. Granny was one of the world’s shining lights and we all tried to be close to her so that our lives would be a bit brighter... for a while. Our Moms gave us life, our Dads gave us the courage to be upright, Granny gave us everything else and never asked for anything. Nothing. The last few months she would say, “I love you”, in her pretty little way now and again as we walked in from work feeling dead tired and all we had to give her for that was, “I love you too Granny, so much”. Granny was with us on this earth for seventy eight years, one hundred and twelve days, four hours and thirty five minutes and made a difference in the lives of everyone who knew her every second of every day. Now there is a giant hole where that little frame used to be. We’ll never be big enough to fill it and the world is a little darker place.
Granny was predeceased by her husband Albert Thomas Oliver, “Papa”. They were joined in marriage for 51 years. They enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing the jitterbug and entertaining family in their home at parties. Granny was also predeceased by her father and mother, Fletcher and Laura Reynolds, and son, Tom Blair. Granny is survived by her brother and sister, Willis Reynolds and Betty Marshall, and son Tim Oliver. She is also survived by her son and daughter in-law, Michael and Nekia Blair. Her Daughter and son in-law Brean and Ron Schoultz. Her daughter and son in-law Norine and Scott Jarrett, and Daughters in-law Mary Oliver and Robin Blair. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Dana Williams, Travis Oliver and Cody Jarrett. Many great-grandchildren, Hannah, Cierra, Jacob, Faith, Ashley, Lauren, Anya, her monkey Hunter and baby bug Zander. In lieu of donations, it would be Granny’s request that you try to quit smoking or help someone else quit. There will be a gathering of remembrance Saturday, April 28th, 6:00 pm at Granny’s home.
