Life Legacy


Mamie Corriene "Gill" Geurin passed away on July 13, 2011. Corriene grew up in Graysonia, Arkansas and graduated from Oakalona High School. She attended Levi school of Nursing and graduated as an RN in 1944. She worked as a nurse for thirty-five years including at The Army & Navy Hospital and Ouachita Hospital. When the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center was opened she joined the staff and worked there until her retirement.


Corriene is a member of Oaklawn Church of God. She is a 50 plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star, currently Hot Springs National Park Chapter #635. She is also twice past Worthy Matron of Hot Springs Chapter #69 and is past president of the Social Order of the Beauceant Assembly #251.


Corriene married Roy Geurin in 1945. They were married thirty-three years until his death in 1979. She is also preceded in death by her parents William & Cora Gillean and by her two brothers, Hoyle and Loyce. She is survived by her daughter Janet (husband Robert), her grandson Jeremy (wife Allison) and two great grandchildren (Tristan Robert and Alexis Corinne), and by many friends including special friends Doris and Pete Williams.


Visitation will be at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00 Friday evening.


Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Oaklawn Church of God under the direction of Caruth Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Nelson will officiate at the celebration of her life. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens following the service.


Honorary Pallbearers: Staff of the Pines Nursing & Rehab Center who took such good care of her as her health declined, members of Hot Springs Chapter #635 Order of Easter Star, Members of Masonic Lodge #62, Levi Nurses, Dr. Priscilla Tangunan, Dr Katherine Koon, Dr. John Simpson, Dr. Daniel Owens, Dr. Richard Braley, Dr. Ross Bandy, Dr. Mark Anthony, Dr. James F. Burton, and residents of Cedar Crest Condo.
