Obituary for Steve Davidson

A tremendous patriot, Baptist, and family man has joined the Saints above. Steve Davidson, 72, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2017. He was born March 13, 1945 in Hot Springs to Parker and Madine Davidson.

From 1963 to 1967 Steve served in the United States Air Force. Steve graduated from Henderson State Teacher’s College with a degree in sociology and attended Garland County Community College where he studied law enforcement. For 1 ½ years he taught 8th grade at Mtn. Pine School. His career included working as an Arkansas State Parole Officer and supervisor for Garland, Clark, Pike and Montgomery Counties. Steve volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician. He was a member of the Arkansas State Marijuana Eradication Task Force Team. Steve was also a head injury counselor at the Arkansas State Rehabilitation Center.

Steve was a devoted member of Center Fork Baptist Church with a servant’s heart. He served as a deacon and always arrived early Sunday mornings to serve as a greeter and an usher. Steve spent time calling and visiting the sick.

Loving survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Davidson; daughter, Sherri Harris and husband, Robert; son, Stephen Davidson and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Sophie Harris, Sydney Harris, Noah Davidson, Chloe Davidson, Sylvia Davidson and Ava Davidson; sister, Alyce Robinson; nephews, Lance Robinson, Neil Robinson, Jared Metcalf, Josh Metcalf and Joel Metcalf; numerous other family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Center Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Lynn Baxter officiating.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Center Fork Baptist Church, 1101 S. Moore, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
