Obituary for Roy Virgil May

Roy Virgil May, age 83 of Hot Springs, AR passed away on May 4, 2018. He was born on June 17, 1934 to John and Lena (Gibson) May in Hot Springs, AR.

Roy was a young entrepreneur; he had a 25 year career with OTASCO and then started a family business, YAM’s, home of “A Yam Good Deal.”

He is preceded in death by his father and mother: wife Betty Jane Siratt of 40 years and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, JoAnn May; son Jerry (Vicki) May; son Terry (Janna) May; daughter Donna (Drew) Cosgrove; Stepson Randy (Cynthia) McGrew; stepson Richard (Debbie) McGrew; stepdaughter Marilyn McGrew; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 –7:00 p.m. Monday, May 7 at Caruth Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Life Celebration will be at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, May 8 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smith and Gerald Taylor with burial at Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Charles Spicer, Ray Mathis, John Mcferrin, Charles Tapp, Harry Dies, and Bill Sanders.

Honorary pallbearers are the Sam Windell Sunday School Class at Hot Springs Baptist, Pete Barker, Dale Kemp, Outpatient Nurses and Hospice Nurses at CHI, Caregivers; Elain, Sara, and Andrea.
