Regina Rhea Durham, 45, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away March 5, 2017. She was born February 15, 1972, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to James Chamberlain and Laura (McTigrit) Sellers. Regina was a very plain spoken and determined woman. She worked for Quapaw House for over 13 years, where she aided countless people on their journey to sobriety. As a recovering addict, this line of work was very personal to her. Regina was fair, firm, and consistent, and will be remembered for always being giving of her time and effort to those around her. Regina was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, Garland Court No. 21 in Hot Springs.
Some of the things Regina enjoyed the most were her two cats, Polly and Macy; Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit; Tattoos; the TV show M*A*S*H; and World of Warcraft. Her family is grateful that she was told that her daughter, Laura Beth, was approved for an educational trip to Bamburgh Castle in England this summer. She was in the process of helping Laura Beth devise a plan to smuggle a piece of Stonehenge back to Arkansas. This will surprise none of the people who knew her well.
Regina was preceded in death by her aunt, Angela Ford.
Survivors include her mother, Laura Sellers; daughter, Laura Beth Durham; former husband, Mark Durham of Pine Bluff; loving sister in spirit, Jo Ann Dupra; and her son, Don Reed IV.
A celebration of Regina’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Laura Beth Durham officiating.
While flowers are much appreciated, any donation to Quapaw House Inc., to which she dedicated her career, or your local chapter of Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous would also do her honor.
