Obituary for Norma D. Smith

Norma D. Smith of Gilbert, AZ, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Brookdale of Chandler Regional, an assisted living residence. Born November 6th, 1929, in Coal County, OK, to James D. Droke and Helen Cecil Droke, she resided in Arizona for 8 years and was a member of Desert Springs Church in Chandler, AZ.

Norma was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Loice Otto Smith; nine brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila J. and Richard Schryver of Tempe, AZ, Norma Colleen and Forrest Dodge of Gilbert, AZ, Helen Natalie and Gene Bobsin of Blue Eye, MO; and her three sons and daughters-in-law, James T. and Diann Smith of Redfield, AR, Michael J. and Ellen Smith of Wellersburg, PA, Loice Otto and Linda Smith, Jr. of Caseyville, IL; two sisters, Christine Baldwin of Hot Springs, AR and Theresa Clark of Morrilton, AR; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Turner officiating.

Burial will be at Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Harry Eugene Bobsin Sr., Harry Eugene Bobsin II, Brain Nathan Smith, Michael J. Smith, Matthew Smith and Thomas Smith.

There will be a Memorial Service in Arizona, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 22nd, 2017 at Desert Springs Church, 19620 S McQueen Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286.
