Obituary for Marcie Plyler Rigsby

Marcie Plyler Rigsby (89) passed away January 29, 2018 at home with her family at her side.
Marcie was born on May 30, 1928 in Wachita, Arkansas.

She was a lifelong member and Deacon’s Wife of Smith Creek MBC of Lonsdale, Arkansas. Marcie was a member of the Ready Club, a Senior’s Ministry of Ten Mile Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing in this group and the travels they made together.

Marcie was a retired RN after 35 years of service. She practiced at BMC, St Joseph and Benton Services Center.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas RA Rigsby; parents, Jeff and Lura Irons Plyler; and step-mother, Marie Plyler; brother, Joe Plyer; sister, Sandi Reynolds; and son-in-law, Mike Potter

Marcie is survived by her sister, Carolyn Tillery; three children, Tommy Rigsby (Vickie), Mike Rigsby (Debbie) and Debbie Potter; eight grandchildren, Kim Brown (Brad), Joe Rigsby (Melissa), Kristie Wilson (Mark), Jeremy Rigsby (Jennifer), Terri Shaffett (Heath), Mark Cone, Aaron Potter (Taylor) and Justin Potter; two step-grandchildren, Jason Davis and Jonathan Davis; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Marcie had many friends and relatives. She also had a pet, Tiffany that she adored.

Pallbearers will be Joe Rigsby, Jeremy Rigsby, Mark Cone, Justin Potter, Aaron Potter, Brock Rigsby, William Rigsby and Ryan Brown.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the CHI St Vincent ICU (H.S.) and Hospice of Central Arkansas (H.S.)

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Shepard and Gene Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at Smith Creek Cemetery.

In honor of two of her great-grandchildren, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
