John Joseph “Ozzie” Klamet, 86 passed peacefully 1/7/17 in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas from natural causes. He was born January 23, 1931, in Cleveland to John J. Klamet, Sr. and Marie M. Frechko-Klamet, and he resided at Good Samaritan Society.
Ozzie was preceded in death by Geraldine Klamet, and sister, Jeanette “Jan” Tovell. Survivors include nieces, Karen Tovell-Weber (John), Margo Tovell and nephew, Craig Tovell (Cindy).
Ozzie graduated from Rhodes High School in 1950 and the Ohio State University in 1954. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and an avid Buckeye, Browns and Indians fan. Ozzie served as Lt. USAF SAC navigator of a B-47 Stratojet nuclear bomber during the Cold War. Ozzie was employed by US Steel in Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. He retired to golf in Hot Springs Village.
Ozzie, known for his quick wit and sense of humor had many friends. He channeled his softer side through painting and cooking, made an impression with just about anyone he met and will be missed.
Memorial service on 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Good Samaritan Chapel, 121 Cortez Rd, HSV, AR 71909.
