Obituary for John Joseph Meehan

John Joseph Meehan, 91 of Hot Springs Village died Monday May 1, 2017. He was a World War II Veteran and retired from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce after 36 years. He was preceded in death by Beryl Meehan, his wife of fifty years. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Iola Meehan, his five children – Mike Meehan, Scott Meehan, Debbie Hallock, Julie Spanos, Greg Meehan, 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

John was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, attended St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul Minnesota before entering the U.S. Army. He served in France, Germany and England during World War II. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation will be on Monday at 3:30 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 4 p.m. and funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hot springs Village, Arkansas.
