Obituary for Jane Ranson

Jane Ranson, of Hot Springs, received her angel wings on May 10, 2017. She was born on April 27, 1935 in Muskogee, OK and in 1948 moved to Greenville, MS. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Adelia Fahnestock and is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Ranson of 60 years (next month). She too is survived by son Allan Ranson (Rhonda) of Collierville, TN and their sons, Alex and Zack; her daughter, Adelia Redalen, of Parker, CO and her son, Connor, of Fort Collins, CO and daughter Cara, of Parker, CO; sister-in-law, May Jeannette Northway, of Ridgeland, MS; and cousin, Dr. William Springer (Judy), of Hot Springs, AR.

Jane graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She taught school for three years and devoted the interim years to raising her children and supporting her husband with work assignments from Mississippi to Maine to Arkansas to Washington State and back to Arkansas. In 1984, she became a Realtor and enjoyed a successful career until her death.

Jane served as an officer on the Hot Springs Board of Realtors and as an active member of the First United Methodist Church served on the Board of Stewards, as an officer of the women’s Missionary Society and played in the Bell Choir. She also participated in the Show Garden Club and Demoiselle Federated Club. Jane stayed active to the end with her tennis, bridge and bunko clubs, exercise, Sunday school and real estate friends.

A memorial service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend David Wilson and Reverend David Mosley officiating. A reception in the church Christian Life Center will follow. Those wishing to make a memorial in her name may contribute to First United Methodist Church or a charity of their choice.
