Obituary for James Rodney Moore

James “Rodney” Moore, 89, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away September 12, 2017. He was born October 12, 1927, in El Dorado to Dan Jones and Lida (Stuart) Moore.

Rodney was a lifelong member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, where he was a member of Victory Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and Korea. Rodney retired from Reynolds Metals after many years. He was known for his integrity, his sweet smile, his kind heart, and his love of animals. Rodney was certainly a southern gentleman!

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stuart Moore; and sister, Kathryn Hunter.

Survivors include nieces, Anita Hunter of Hot Springs, Connie Gallagher (Rick) of Little Rock; nephew, Ken Moore (Carolyn) of Malvern; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with a celebration of Rodney’s life immediately following at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Fleming officiating.

Burial will follow at Cunningham Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of West Shores Retirement Facility.

Honorary pallbearers include the members of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, friends from Reynolds Metals, and many friends and neighbors on Point Lookout.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.
