Obituary for Glen Depriest

Glen Depriest, 90, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 12, 2017. He was born March 28, 1926, to Jim and Ruby Depriest but was raised by his maternal grandparents, Lat and Ella Tillery (Papa and Pomie) after the death of his mother when he was an infant.

Glen was a deacon at Center Hill Baptist Church. He worked for McGeorge helping build many roads in Arkansas, then worked for Cooper Communities until his retirement. He truly loved to run a bulldozer. Later in life Glen used to say he was willing to pay someone to be able to run a bulldozer. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran.

Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be truly missed.

Survivors include daughters, Glenda Vaughn (Jerry) of Hot Springs, Susan Culpepper (Eddie) of Hot Springs Village, Tammy Courtney (Paul) of Gulf Breeze, Florida; grandchildren, Lisa Mays (Paul) of Monett, Missouri, Lori White (Nathan) of Star City, Arkansas, Sean Culpepper (Dana) of Benton, Arkansas, Jeremy Vaughn (Mandie), Jennifer Still (Jeremy) of Hot Springs, Curtis Courtney, Alison Courtney of Gulf Breeze, Florida; great-grandchildren, Nathan Mays, Lukas Vaughn (Dylan), Alexandria Tillery, Kami Vaughn, Izabel Tillery, Samuel Mays, Timothy Mays, Hannah Culpepper, Connor White, Elim Culpepper, Andrew Mays, and Matthew Mays.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; wife of 67 years, Mary Burks Depriest; daughter, Ann Depriest; twin grandsons, Jamey and Jeffrey Vaughn; and brother, Dale.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kirby Caple and Sean Culpepper officiating.

Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery, Highway 5.

Pallbearers are Jerry Vaughn, Eddie Culpepper, Paul Courtney, Jeremy Vaughn, Nathan Mays, Lukas Vaughn, Curtis Courtney, and Sean Culpepper.

Honorary pallbearers include Lisa Mays, Lori White, Jennifer Vaughn-Still, and Alison Courtney.
