Obituary for Gilbert Shearer

Gilbert Shearer was born in Atlanta, GA., December 18, 1943 to Virgil Shearer and Ann Rose (Nix). He passed away on June 30, 2017 from complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
He leaves behind his wife; Linda, daughters; Susan Albritton (Mark) of Jefferson, GA., Jennifer Smith of Warner Robins, GA., son; Virgil Gibbs (Laurel) of Choctaw, OK., grandchildren; Tiffani Honeycuttt of Jefferson, GA., and Brian Harris (Heather) of Summerville, SC., Jenna Brown, Alana Waller, and Danni Smith, Alex Hardy-Gibbs and Austin Ray Gibbs, great-grandchildren; Katilyn Honeycutt, Natalie Honeycutt, Ethan Harris and Weston Harris.

Gil attended Kirkwood Elementary, Murphy High School and Georgia Tech. He was very involved in the refrigeration and heating/air industry since he was fourteen years old, and held various titles in the industry such as CEO, General Manager, VP, Executive staff, CFO, Branch Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Director of Purchasing. Companies where he worked and gave his whole-hearted dedication include; Grave Refrigeration, Parkes Hannifin Co., Kimmel-Hotz Refrigeration, Hill Phoenix, Dover Corporation, Air Supply, Inc. and recently Sanders Supply of HS.
Gil lived in Georgia, Florida, Salt Lake City, Utah, Encenada, Mexico and Arcadia, Claremont, and Banning, CA., before moving to Hot Springs Village. He and Linda were married in Claremont, CA in 1990, and moved to Hot Springs Village in 2004, where Gil worked for Sanders Supply until his retirement in 2008.

Friends and coworkers will remember him as a gracious and helpful man with a sharp sense of humor, wisdom and a gentle heart.

There will be no service, however, donations may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL., 33131.
