Gerald E Lang, 80, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died January 17th, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital. Born March 6, 1936 in Rochelle, Illinois to Earl and Marion Lang. Married to Sandra Rinehart on September 12, 1959.

Graduate of Rochelle High School, class of 1953. Attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and received a degree in Business. Joined the Army and was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. Gerry worked in various executive positions, primarily as a Personnel Director for several cities and counties in Wisconsin prior to retiring in Hot Springs Village.

Hobbies included fishing, antique wooden boats, bowling, camping, collecting antique fishing lures, and acting as an award-winning Hot Springs Village Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for several years. Before moving to Hot Springs Village, Gerry enjoyed spending time at the family lodge located on Sawyer Lake in Wisconsin. He took pride in remodeling the cottage while preserving its 1920's roots. Gerry used the lodge to host numerous golf tournaments, hunting and fishing events, family reunions, and week-end gatherings of friends. Wonderful memories were created there of playing cards, water skiing, barbecuing, infamous pancake breakfasts, and great conversations that will not soon be forgotten by so many friends and family.

Gerry was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village.

He leaves behind his mother, Marion Lang, of Rochelle, Illinois, brother Robert Lang of Elmhurst, Illinois, sister Barbara Egland of Carmel, California, sons, David Lang of Dousman, Wisconsin and Peter Lang of Nevada City, California; grandchildren Tristan and Ariana Lang (Peter) and Thora and Reed Kastner-Lang (David). He was predeceased by his wife Sandra Rinehart Lang in July of 2016, and father Earl Lang in 1969.

Memorial Service will be in at St John's Lutheran Church in Creston, Illinois at 11:00 AM on February 25th, 2017.
