Obituary for Edward H. Ashburn, Jr.

Edward H. Ashburn, Jr., of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2017. He was born September 20, 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Ed was a faithful Christian, beloved husband, devoted brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Edward served as Master Sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division of the United States Army, was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge, was well traveled and one for telling entertaining stories.

Edward is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Joe-Ann Ashburn; two sons, Chuck Ashburn and Joey Ashburn and sister, Marie Burch.

Loving survivors include his daughter, Pat Kibodeaux and husband John of Taylorville, IL; son, Jeff Ashburn and wife Lisa of Hot Springs, AR; brother W. D. Ashburn and wife Edna of Lake City, Florida; sister Anne Patrick and husband John of Pocahontas, Arkansas; sister Floy Beard of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; sister Lenora Sentelle and husband Frank of Enka, North Carolina; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation.

The family will have a private burial at Mulberry Cemetery in England, Arkansas.
