Obituary for Dale Lavern Reimers

Dale Lavern Reimers passed peacefully from this world on May 3rd, 2017. He was 87. Dale died among family at his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on July 24th, 1929 in a farmhouse outside of the small colony of Dannebrog, Nebraska. He was born to Siegfriedt Christian Reimers and Emma Mortensen Reimers.

Dale is predeceased by his four older sisters, Doris, Margaret, Arlene, and Maxine, and his younger brother, Donald. He was also predeceased by Julie Reimers, a niece whom he raised as his own.

Dale is survived by Marilyn Taghon Reimers, his wife of 60 years, and the children that he raised: Chris Reimers, Lori Durr, Craig Reimers, Troy Reimers, and Mark Reimers. He enjoyed his family, yearly vacations, bowling, and living on the lake.

Dale was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for most of his life. He believed in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and that Christ's death on the cross paid for his sins. Although he was a great example to all who knew him, he believed that he was saved by God's grace alone. Dale worked for Driftwood Dairy of Southern California for much of his work life and retired in Arkansas.

Dale served in the Army during the Korean War. As part of Company C, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry division, he was wounded near Kumwha, Korea on October 7th, 1952.
