Bruce L. McIntosh. 85, of Hot Springs Village, AR passed away April 16, 2017. He was born in Kellogg, Idaho to the late Burke McIntosh and Vivian (Klepinger) McIntosh on May 01, 1931.
Though Bruce was born in Kellogg, ID he was primarily raised in Lewiston, ID. He attended the University of Idaho, after which he had a brief baseball career before entering the United States Air Force proudly serving for 2 years.He later attended the University of Oregon, achieving his Master’s Degree and coaching the Freshman basketball team. Bruce served 40 years in the Air Force Department of Defense, ending his career in 1994, as Chief of Programs for Air Force Personnel.
In 2004, he was inducted into the Idaho Sports Hall of Fame for basketball and baseball. After their move to the village 21 years ago, Bruce and his wife, Margery, attended Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines where he served as Elder.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Kenneth and Walter McIntosh. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Margery, son; Bob McIntosh of Little Rock, AR, daughter; Jan Cook (Robert) of Shreveport, LA, and two grandchildren; Kelli Cartwright (Brunson) and Michele Tilley (Chris), both of Shreveport, LA.
A Celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines in Hot Springs Village with Pastor William Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines.
