Obituary for Billy Gene Canada

Billy Gene Canada, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to Heaven Thursday, February 09, 2017.

Bill worked at Cooley’s Grocery Store for 37 wonderful years.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, James E. & Barbara (Helton) Thigpen; his wife of 47 years Bonnie Cooley Canada; his infant daughter Linda Diane Canada and his positively influential paternal grandmother, Lola Canada.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Peggy Murphree (Bobby) and Patricia Kazzee; Mark Canada (David Wilson), Paul Merritt, Jr.; step-daughters Kim Hood (Mark) and Kara Jones (Donald); 5 grandchildren, Babette Owen (Danny), Bobby Murphree, Jr. (Rebekah), Rick Morphew (Sharla), Summer Kazzee and Kevin Merritt; four step grandchildren, Joshua Melikian and Tyler Hood and Madison & Mallory Jones; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Rick Morphew, Austin Morphew, Bobby Murphree, Jr., Josh Williams, Paul Merritt and Nick Reding.

Visitation is Sunday 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral will be 10:00 am Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Murphree officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
