Obituary for Billy Bob Dorman

Billy Bob Dorman, 77, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away February 8, 2017. He was born June 26, 1939, in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, to Fred Harrison and Viola (Kendrick) Dorman. Bill served his church, Grand Avenue Baptist in Hot Springs faithfully for 30 years. Billy’s motto was, “God put us here to help people,” which is exactly what he did. He served Grand Avenue in many ways. Billy made sure the vans were maintained as well as driving them for any special events that the church may have. He also served on the senior committee as well as the security team.

Billy was almost always at the door to greet people as they arrived at church, often meeting people at their car with an umbrella in the rain. During church fellowships Billy was the first one to help clean up and take a plate to shut ins. Billy spent the last several years caring for his special friend, Carolyn Weaver and providing for her needs. The people of Grand Avenue Baptist Church will miss Billy greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Helen.

Survivors include his many cousins and church family.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Graves officiating.

Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
