Obituary for Anne L. Taylor

Anne L. Taylor, 70, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, left this earth for her Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 2, 2018. She was born October 8, 1947, in Raleigh, NC, to Vernon Dorsey and Kathleen (Molohon) Adams.

Anne's father was a major in the U.S. Air Force and later a ranger with the National Park Service, so she moved often with her family. Her most favorite places she lived were Maine and Panama before finally making Hot Springs her home. Anne loved Hot Springs where she graduated with her beloved class of 1965 and developed many lifelong friendships that were dear to her. She married Gene Matthews Jr. and had three children Matt, Shauna and Jennifer. She later married Alvin Taylor and enjoyed many years on Lake Ouachita house boating and riding their Harley Davidson together throughout the United States.

There were no boundaries to Anne’s huge heart to love and serve others. She had a special gift of making those she met feel loved like family. Anne did it her way with a big heart, a strong personality, and a warrior spirit. She overcame many serious life obstacles including losing her left leg and her sister in a motorcycle accident in 2012. Despite all of her health challenges, she devoted all she had in her later years to being her mother's sole caretaker as she endured dementia. While caring for her mother, she became like family with The Caring Place here in Hot Springs and continued to love and serve there until January of this year. Anne loved her family and her grandchildren were the joys of her life.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Dorsey and Kathleen Adams and her sister, Mary Kay; her niece, Amber M. Adams; nephew, John D. Adams; her grandparents, Henry Windsor Adams, Mary Hammond Adams, Josephine Molohon and Albin "Bud" Molohon.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Alvin Taylor; son, Matt Matthews (Linda); daughters, Shauna Douglas (Hal), Jennifer Lycan (Chad); brothers, John Adams (Charla), Mike Adams (Julie), Jamie Adams (Sherri); and grandchildren, Alex and Wesley, Sydney Grace, Alessandra, Esther, Ella, and Brooke.

A gathering of friends and family will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Lake Valley Community Church with a celebration of Anne’s life immediately following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lamar Trieschmann officiating.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Anne's many caregivers over the last several months including Dr. Greg Whorton, Dr. Fred Divers, Dr. David Pruitt, Dr. Nizar Suleman, Dr. Harneet Pahwa, Dr. Ameer Khan, Dr. Osborn, Dr. Apolinar Bordador, the nurses at St. Vincent’s ICU, and staff at Pines Rehabilitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Caring Place and Lake Valley Community Church.
